Peter Pan is a boy from a magical place called Neverland. He loves adventure and he doesn’t want to grow up. He visits children in their dreams and they have fun together. One night, he flies into an open bedroom window. Tinkerbell, the fairy, is with him.
The children are sleeping. Peter is very quiet, but Tinkerbell is not. She sneezes
and the children wake up. They are Wendy Darling and her brothers, John and
Michael Darling.
Peter: Oh, I’m sorry Wendy. I didn’t want to wake you up.
Wendy: You know my name! I know you, too. You’re Peter Pan!
Wendy is not afraid. She knows Peter Pan from her dreams.
Wendy: Peter, these are my brothers, John and Michael.
Peter: Hello, boys. Do you want to come to Neverland with us?
John: Yes, but...how?
Tinkerbell: We’re going to fly!
Michael: Wow!
Tinkerbell sprinkles them with magic fairy dust.
Peter: Now move your arms up and down and fly!
Wendy: Like this?
Peter:
Yes, like that!
And one by one, the children fly out of the window. Soon, they are high up in the
night sky.
Michael: We’re flying like birds! It’s wonderful!
John: You’re going very fast, Michael. Be careful.
Peter leads them through the night skies. Below them, the lights of London shine
very bright.
Wendy: Oh, look! The city looks beautiful from up here!
Peter: Just wait until you see Neverland ... it’s even more beautiful.
They are still flying as the sun comes up. Far below, they can see an island.
Wendy: What’s that place? It looks magical!
Peter: It is magical. That’s my home, Neverland!
Peter is very happy because he’s going home. When they land on the island,
a lot of little boys come to meet them. They are very happy to see Peter and
run towards him and Wendy.
Boy: Hey, look, Peter’s back!
Peter tells Wendy that these are the Lost Boys. Long ago, they left their houses and
went to Neverland with Peter Pan. They are his family now.
Peter: Lost Boys, this is Wendy, Michael and John. They are going to live with
us.
Lost Boy: That’s nice! And Wendy can take care of us! OK, Wendy?
Wendy: Well, I can try!
Suddenly, they hear a scream. It’s a young girl’s voice. The children are frightened
but Peter tells them not to worry.
Peter:
Wendy, children, stay here with the Lost Boys. I have to find out what’s wrong.
The screams come from the Mermaids’ Lagoon. Two pirates, Smee and Starkey,
are tying up Tiger Lily. She is the Indian Chief’s daughter.
Tiger Lily: Oh, help, help! Save me!
Peter hides behind a rock and plays a trick on the pirates. He shouts at them in
the voice of their captain.
Peter: Smee, Starkey, this is Captain Hook. You must let Tiger Lily go at once.
Do you hear?
Smee and Starkey: Aye aye, captain!
So Smee and Starkey set Tiger Lily free and leave.
When the pirates leave, Peter flies down to Tiger Lily. She is very happy to see him
and she gives him a big hug.
Tiger Lily: Oh, thank you, Peter, thank you! You saved my life!
Peter: Hurry and go to your father now. He must be very worried.
Smee and Starkey find Captain Hook in the jungle. He is very angry because Tiger
Lily is not with them.
Captain Hook: Where is Tiger Lily?
Smee: We... we set her free... Just as you said!
Captain Hook: Oh, no! You fools! That was one of Peter’s tricks! Grrr... He must
pay for that!
Another pirate brings some interesting news to the captain.
Pirate: Captain, we found the cave of the Lost Boys.
Captain Hook: A-ha! That’s great! Smee, call the rest of the men! Peter Pan,
we’re coming to get you!
The Indian Chief wants to thank Peter for saving his daughter. He goes to the cave
but Peter is not there.
Indian Chief: Where is Peter? I must talk to him.
Wendy: I don’t know where...oh, what was that?
At that moment, Captain Hook and the pirates attack the cave. The Indians are
surprised and they can’t do anything. Captain Hook gives orders to the pirates.
Captain Hook: Tie everyone up! Hurry!
Smee: Aye aye, captain.
Wendy and her brothers are also Captain Hook’s prisoners. They look very
frightened.
Starkey: What are we going to do with them, captain?
Captain Hook: Take them to the ship.
The pirates leave the Indians and the Lost Boys at the cave. They take Wendy and
her brothers to Captain Hook’s ship, the Jolly Roger. John is crying.
John: What are we going to do now, Wendy?
Wendy: Don’t worry, John. Do you see that light up on the mast? It’s Tinkerbell!
She’s going to call Peter Pan!
Michael: Yes, and he’s going to help us and the Lost Boys!
Captain Hook is a very bad man. He ties Wendy to the mast of the ship and
makes Michael and John walk the plank. But Wendy is not afraid.
Captain Hook: Where’s Peter Pan now? He can’t save you!
Suddenly, Captain Hook looks up in the sky. It is Peter and he is flying down to the
ship. Wendy is very happy to see him.
Wendy: You see? Peter is here to help us, boys!
Tinkerbell and Peter are on the Jolly Roger now. She frees Michael and John as
Peter sets Wendy free.
Wendy: Oh, Peter, you came just in time.
Peter: Don’t worry, Wendy. I’m always here to help!
Captain Hook calls to his pirates for help. Then, he rushes towards Peter with his
sword.
Captain Hook: I’m going to kill you, Peter Pan!
But Peter is faster than him and he throws him in the sea. A crocodile is waiting
there with his mouth open. The crocodile ate Hook’s hand some years ago, and
now he wants to eat all of him. Captain Hook is in trouble!
Captain Hook swims away with the crocodile after him. Peter Pan attacks the
pirates. They are very scared and they jump into the sea. Wendy and her brothers
are safe now. But they miss their parents...
Wendy: It was a great adventure Peter, but we must leave now. Can you take us
back home?
Peter: OK then, follow me! But come and visit me again some time!
