A man and a woman are in the jungle with their baby. A tiger called Shere Khan sees them. He is hungry and he roars.
Shere Khan: This is my jungle! Go away!
Father: Oh, no! A tiger, it's going to kill us! Let's go!
Mother: But... the baby!
Father: Run! Leave the baby here. It's safer! Come here, big cat!
Shere Khan runs after the parents.

The baby stays in the jungle. Then, a wolf sees the baby. He takes it to his cave. Father Wolf shows it to Mother Wolf and their four cubs.
Mother Wolf: Oh, the man cub is beautiful! Let’s call him Mowgli. Just then, Shere Khan comes to the cave.
Shere Khan: Give me the baby, he is mine!
Father Wolf: He is not yours! Let's call the animals. They can decide!

All the animals in the jungle are having a meeting. Some animals do not like Shere Khan and they don't want to give Mowgli to him. Bagheera, the black panther, and Baloo, the bear, protect Mowgli from Shere Khan because he is just a baby. Shere Khan is very angry

Akela, the leader of the wolves is a wise leader.
Akela: Mowgli can't harm us, so he can come with us. He can help us in the future.
The rock suddenly opens. There is a cave behind it. The thieves take their bags into the cave.
Shere Khan could not do anything about it.

So Mowgli grows up in the jungle. Father Wolf and Mother Wolf are his parents and the cubs are his brothers and sisters. Mowgli loves the jungle and he is very happy. He learns the languages of all the animals.

Ten years pass. Baloo and Bagheera are Mowgli's best friends and his teachers. They talk to him about the dangers of the jungle. Baloo teaches him how to swim, climb and do many things.

One day the three friends are talking.
Mowgli: I made some new friends yesterday.
Baloo: Really? Who?
Mowgli: The Monkey-People. I look like them and I am their brother, but I don’t have a tail. They think I should become their leader!
Baloo starts shouting.
Baloo: What? The Monkey-People are silly. They don't care about anyone!

Bagheera is very angry too.
Bagheera: Do not talk to them again. They are bad and do not have any laws.
Mowgli: I'm sorry... I didn't know.
So Mowgli promises never to see the Monkey-People again. But later, when they are all asleep, the monkeys come for their leader.

The monkeys take Mowgli and pass him to each other as they jump from tree to tree. Mowgli is frightened.

Suddenly, he sees Chil the kite.
Mowgli: Chil! Tell Baloo and Bagheera you saw me here.
The monkeys try to catch Chil but they can't.

Baloo and Bagheera are very worried.
Baloo: Mowgli's in danger! The monkeys are very careless!
Bagheera: The monkeys are very fast. We must get help. Let's find Kaa.
Baloo: Is he going to help us?
Bagheera: Of course. Kaa is always hungry and we are going to find him some food.

The friends find Kaa, the python. He is enjoying the afternoon sun.
Baloo: Please help us get Mowgli back from the Monkey-People.
Kaa: I don't know...
Baloo: Those monkeys called you a 'footless yellow earthworm'!
Kaa: What? I'm definitely going to help you now! The Monkey-People should be afraid of me.

The monkeys take Mowgli to an old city. A king built the city hundreds of years ago.
King Monkey: We are great! We are the best animals in the jungle! And we have Mowgli! He can teach us many things.

Bagheera and Baloo finally find Mowgli and the monkeys. The monkeys attack Bagheera and Baloo.
Mowgli:Jump into the river, Bagheera! The monkeys don't like water! And then Kaa appears...
Monkeys:: Kaa! It's Kaa. Run! Run!

Kaa twists and turns. All the monkeys look into his eyes. He hypnotizes them.
Kaa: Go now, my friends. Let me take care of the monkeys.
Baloo: Thank you, Kaa.
Bagheera: We are your friends, Kaa. Always remember that ...

Bagheera: Mowgli, you are not safe here in the jungle. You must go back to your people. Shere Khan is dangerous!
Mowgli is sad. He doesn't want to leave the jungle. That night, he goes to the man village. He hides behind the bushes. He sees the people around the fire. They are playing music, dancing and laughing.

The next day, Akela warns Mowgli too.
Akela: Shere Khan wants to get you. He wants to kill you.
Mowgli: Let him try!
That night, Mowgli goes to the man village again. Everyone is asleep. Mowgli sees the fire, takes a branch and lights it. Then he goes back to the jungle.

Suddenly, Shere Khan attacks Mowgli from behind. He drops the branch. They fight. Shere Khan is very strong, Mowgli tries to reach the branch, grabs it and burns the tiger. Shere Khan runs away and never comes back.

Mowgli doesn't understand her, but that's OK. He knows he has a lot to learn. The woman touches his face.
Woman: I had a son once. A tiger took him many years ago...
