Entry Guidelines:

  1. This contest is ONLY open to Nazmi Arıkan Fen Bilimleri Anadolu Liseleri 9th and 10th grade students. Any other submissions will not be evaluated.
  2. Participants are free to choose a theme and adapt their writing styles to a genre of their choice e.g., suspension, adventure, sci-fi.
  3. Entries must NOT exceed the maximum of 3,000 words and cannot be shorter than 1500 words.
  4. All entries must be unique and they will be checked for plagiarism. Entries must NOT have been published or broadcast on any platform by the date of submission.
  5. Entries will be graded based on four criteria;
    • Understanding of the topic,
    • Creative thinking relative to the participant’s chosen topic,
    • Effectiveness in presenting a point-of-view,
    • Literary style, grammar and spelling.
  6. Entries must be typed, in double spacing, using 12 Point Times New Roman or Courier font and font should be black.
  7. No more than ONE story may be submitted by any entrant.
  8. Entries can be sent by “Submit Your Story” button.
  9. Entries can be emailed to [email protected] or posted to the MM Publications Turkey Office at the address below. Hard copy entries will NOT be returned.
  10. In case of hard copy submission, Name, Name of the School and Grade, School Address, Telephone Number, E-mail address should be e-mailed separately, under the heading MM Nazmi Arıkan Fen Bilimleri Anadolu Liseleri Short Story Contest 2022.
  11. The decision of the adjudicators is final.
  12. Winners of Short Story Contest will be announced on March 10th.
  13. The awards will be announced at the MM Turkey Website and awards will be sent directly to the school(s) in order to avoid any problems.
  14. A certificate will be provided to each participant.
  15. The adjudicators will not enter into any correspondence concerning the award.
  16. Should an appropriate standard not be achieved, no award will be presented.
  17. MM Publications Turkey Office reserves the right to select for publication such entries as may be deemed appropriate, in any entry.
